Although the division of the Earth into 9 nations appeased the Nationalists, this was greatly unpopular on the planet due to Earth being essentially sidelined by the system. Terranist revolts overthrew Eurasia and Australia, while the Nationalist regime ruling America dropped any pretense of Nationalism and formed the United Terran State, which soon unified the rest of the world. There were significant counter attacks launched by Martian and Lunar forces, which were soon repelled.
