Older Carthage coins (1 Jan 400 Jahr v. Chr. – 1 Jan 300 Jahr v. Chr.)

Beschreibung:

The coin pictured, created in the 4th Century BCE, was made of electrum, a gold-silver alloy found naturally in south and east Europe. Because Electrum was found in Greece–and not in Northern Africa, the location suggests that during and before this time period, Carthage had trade relations with Greece. The source that supplied the picture of the coins (British Museum) did not mention if this was one coin or two different ones. The first coin shows an image of a woman’s head facing left wearing jewelry, a headpiece, and a necklace. The second coin depicts a horse facing right. Notably, these images are very similar to the ones on the copper coins, but differ in a few ways.
