The US got involved in WW1 but the consequences resulted in The high cost of the war (supplies, military, and even the lives lost). In addition the U.S. returns to isolationism. Since involvement in foreign affairs led to such a huge cause of war, the US wanted to remain isolationist. However, after ww2, the United Nations was formed and the US created alliances with other nations which went against the idea of isolationism. America was progressing towards a more imperialist nation and a nation involved in foreign affairs.
