Russian Civil War: The Russian Civil War was a vast and complicated conflict. It was sparked by the overthrowing of the monarchy and failure of the provisional government to maintain order and address the issues caused by the Great War. Eventually the massive conflict would be won by the Red army through their ability to appeal to the masses, superior organization and "War Communism." (7 Nov 1917 Jahr – 16 Jun 1923 Jahr)

The fate of Russia was influenced by over a dozen different groups with differing ideologies and leaders. One of the biggest reasons the Whites lost was their inability appeal to the majority of the population and their political differences leading to infighting. Thirteen foreign militaries intervened in the fighting, those of: Japan, the United States, United Kingdom with its imperial allies, France, Germany, Austria Hungary and The Ottoman Empire, all against the Reds. It also led to or assisted in the creation of a least 8 independent states. The conflict was nearly as costly for Russia as WWI, with anywhere from 7,000,000-12,000,000 dead when including civilians.
