The Black Death originate in the 1200s in Central Asia, before making its way to Europe between 1348 and 1350. It killed more than half the population in multiple countries.
Over 25 million people died from the Black Death, which caused consequences for all of medieval society. These deaths started a shortage of farmers resulting in higher demands.
The Black Death plague was transmitted by the bite of an infected flea or exposure to someone who was infected. The most common and defined symptom was swollen, lymph glands in the neck called buboes.
