Hyperinflation (1 Jan 1922 Jahr – 1 Dez 1923 Jahr)

Beschreibung:

Since Weimar government’s printing of banknotes in response to labor disputes in the occupied Ruhr region which caused the hyperinflation crisis in 1922-23. The printing of these banknotes, which failed to use gold, was making both wage and price increases faster.
Hyperinflation affected the German Papiermark, the currency of the Weimar Republic, between 1921 and 1923, primarily in 1923. It caused considerable internal political instability in the country, the occupation of the Ruhr by France and Belgium as well as misery for the general populace.
Poor people suffered, but the greatest casualties were the richer Germans - those with savings. Money became virtually worthless.
