Abbasid Caliphate (1 Jan 750 Jahr – 29 Jan 1258 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
The Abbasid Caliphate was a Muslim empire that ruled in the middle east in the early to mid middle ages and had its capital at Baghdad. It was ruled by a caliph (ruler of a Muslim empire) and made use of several different kinds of tax collection, including the jizya tax, which applied to non-Muslims, and tax farming, in which the government relied on local figures to collect taxes instead of directly collecting taxes itself.
The Abbasid Caliphate was also home to a massive library and university called the House of Wisdom. The library was located in Baghdad and contributed to the translation movement, in which many texts were translated from their original language into Arabic.
