Beschreibung:

Rome began as a republic with no single ruler. The Romans conquered much of the known world. They sought to expand their culture around the world. The Romans didn't care for class distinctions as much as other cultures. Being a citizen was what was most valued. By the time the empire ended, almost 1/3 of Roman people were involved in the slave trade in some way.
Roman society at its beginning was ruled by Senators, it was a republic. The "barbarian" tribes of the north were less civilized in the minds of the Romans. These tribes sought messages from the gods from women priests. Romans also believed in a pantheon (many) gods. They thought that it was good to bring more gods into the kingdom as they conquered more lands.
