German poet and music critic with a nationalistic bend. Didn't like Chopin and his Don Giovanni variations, calling it a vandalism of mozart. "He claimed that an arrangement of this kind displayed the "primitive origins of the Slavonic nations,"calling attention to Chopin's alien origin.
