Beschreibung:

The 1970s recession was a period of economic stagnation and simultaneously inflation in much of the western world.
Some causes were the 1973 oil crisis and the 1971 collapse of the Bretton woods system.
The effects of this recession were felt also during the presidency of Jimmy Carter, whose attempt to stimulate the economy decreased trust in the US dollar, making banks search for a safe haven and dropping the dollars' value by 1/3 against the yen & deutsche mark.
