Day of Mourning (26 Jan 1938 Jahr – 26 Jan 1938 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
The Day of Mourning was the 150th anniversary since the arrival of the first fleet and the colonisation of Australia. It was the first protest held by the Aboriginal Australians about civil rights, and was the beginning of the Aboriginal political movement in Australia which sparked the battle and hardship of giving Aboriginals the same, equal rights as the Australians that were of European descent. Although the original Day of Mourning was just over 80 years ago, the issue of equality of the Indigenous Australians still rings true today, and is still a tough struggle in modern day Australia.
