While the West crashed The Eastern Roman Empire was resurrected as the Byzantine Empire. The Byzantine Empire lasted for a century. Byzantine was good with trade and was a diverse society. The Byzantine Empire left a significant cultural legacy, influencing both the Orthodox Church and the renaissance of Greek and Roman studies. This gave way to the  Renaissance.  Everything was going strong until the Ottomans raided 1453.
