Opposing Views and Tactics of Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Alice Paul in Fight For Suffrage (1 Jan 1890 Jahr – 1 Jan 1919 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady founded the NAWS and Alice Paul founded the NWP. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady used inoffensive and traditional arguments such as a woman's vote is an expansion of traditional household duties in the public sphere. Alice Paul was a more extreme feminist and argued that some should vote because they are equal to men. All campaigned for suffrage, but Alice Paul organized marches in Washington and chained herself to the White House which got a lot of attention for the movement and ultimately led to the 19th Amendment.
