Changing German-Soviet Relations (9 Jul 1932 Jahr – 2 Mai 1935 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
- Renormalization between Germany and Russia most notably occurred between July 9, 1932 – May 2, 1935
- A period of political and economic changes which involved the governments of several countries. Namely, Germany, the USSR, Poland, and France
- Due to the attitude of the Western Powers towards Germany and Russia, the bonding of economic ties between the two countries became apparent and necessary
- The political ties between the two were rickety at best due to drastically different ideological natures
- Perceiving Nazi Germany to be the gretest threat to the Soviet Union, Russia saught to pursue closer ties with not only germany via economic credit agreements, but polotical ties with countries like France and Poland via treaties of mutual non-aggression and assistance
- The Franco-Soviet Non-aggression Pact was one of the key reasons Germany remilitarized the Rhineland in 1936
