Fought as another proxy war in the Cold War, this saw the United States supporting South Vietnam against North Vietnam and a guerilla group called the Viet Cong. It ended in the recall of all US troops from Vietnam, allowing North Vietnam to form the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
