Gorbachev's renouncment of the Brezhnev's doctrine (1 Jan 1980 Jahr – 1 Jan 1981 Jahr)

Beschreibung:

The renouncement of the doctrine, lead to the fall of communism in Eastern European countries as the doctrine prevented Soviet satellites from breaking away from the Soviet Union. And this allowed Soviet satellites to make internal changes without Soviet intervention. As a result, the Soviet Union lost political power and with their economic state, the implementation of Glasnost and Perestroika the USSR fell which caused the end of the Cold War. Moreover the end of the Cold War would lead to the ease of political tensions.
