The Franco Spanish War (1635 – 1639)was started because the treaty at the end of the 30 Years' War and lasted 11 years. France entered to fight the Habsburg dynasty in Spain and the H.R.E . France was allied with the Dutch against Spain and the H.R.E. This was an important war as it was fought across the entirety of Europe not just in France or Spain. Around 1 million men died in this conflict although numbers are unknown because of the technology of the time.
