The English Civil War (1 Jan 1642 Jahr – 1 Jan 1651 Jahr)

Beschreibung:

A series of several wars, between 22 August 1642 – 3 September 1651. Between supporters of the monarchy of Charles I  and opposing groups in each of Charles's kingdoms. There were many factors that contributed to the Civil War, three main reasons were religion, money and parliament.  King Charles believed he ruled with divine right, and spent too much money on lavish items. Under the reign of James I there had been a breakdown in relations between Parliament and the Monarchy. Charles I had a similar negative view of any interference by Parliament in his rule.
