King Louis was referred to as “The boy king” or “the sun king” because he became king at the age of 6. However, he did not come into power until 1661. During his reign he spent money on lavish things like The Palace at Versailles, he made sure to keep the nobles on his side and dependent on him, and made sure the palace was the center of European arts.
