The Hundred Years War (1 Aug 1337 Jahr – 1 Dez 1453 Jahr)
Beschreibung:
The Hundred Years War, despite the name, was a hundred and sixteen year long conflict between England and France over a small piece of land on the European mainland. Despite being a conflict over such an insignificant seeming thing, this was a major piece that lead to the Renaissance. For starters, it created many great technological developments, like the longbow, which helped bring an end to the old idea of chivalry by making it so that people didn't have to be up close to fight anymore. This end of chivalry was also aided by the hiring of mercenaries who felt no loyalty to the king they were fighting for and knew nothing of the chivalric code. This also represented the winning of wars with technology and not numbers, which was proven when a smaller army of English longbowmen overtook a larger French army. This war set up wars into the future and was certainly a major turning point.
