Stolen Generation Era (1 Jan 1910 Jahr – 1 Jan 1970 Jahr)

The Stolen Generation Era lasted from around 1910 to the 1970s. The Stolen Generations were the children of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders that were ripped away from their families and disconnected them from their cultural identity, traditions and beliefs. These children were taken to camps far away from their home they were poorly treated and told to reject their culture. Children went through physical and mental trauma at the camps.

A Sorry Speech was formally presented by Labour Prime Minister Kevin Rudd on the 24th of June 2010 apologising for the past treatment of Indigenous Australians.
