Some prominent noblemen invited William of Orange to invade England. This led to a Glorious Revolution with almost no bloodshed. The question was about who would become the monarch. James was accused of trying to "subvert the constitution" because he broke the contract between the king and the people. Passed BILL OF RIGHTS (see event). Bill of Rights didn't settle everything, so THE TOLERATION ACT was passed (see event).

The glorious revolution was the end of the seventeenth-century struggle between the king and Parliament.
