John F. Kennedy challenged Richard Nixon to the first-ever televised debate. Nixon was the better debater, but Kennedy had the presidential look that everyone wanted. If you listened on the radio, Nixon won, but if you watched it, Kennedy definitely won. This is what led Kennedy to his presidency.
