this battle took place in early World War 1, between the dates deptember 9th and 14th in 1914, between the russians and germans. It pushed the Russian First Army back across its entire front, then forcing them out of germany.Despite the success in withdrawing russian men from Prussia, the battle at Masurian Lakes still cost the Russian First Army 125,000 men and 150 artillery guns.
