Summary
This time period was characterized by the separation of America and the United Kingdom. This caused a cultural shift in the way of thinking in the Americas, as they were no longer a colony. Even though this separation was finally official, the United States really behaved like a European country, importing goods and trading with other European countries. America was shaping its culture as a country, and most of the culture was just imported from European countries, meaning America had no real culture.
