On 25 Nov, 950, some 300000 Chinese soliders and volunteers attacked South Korea and US positions. Badly outnumbered, the UN troops were forced back. The US confronted a major land war in Asia. So as policy of Containment, Truman wanted limited war fought to achieve only specific goals. Now, everyone stayed claim and came back to as it was.
