The Etruscans And Their Influence on Rome (1 Dez 599 Jahr v. Chr. – 8 Jan 400 Jahr v. Chr.)

Beschreibung:

One of our lessons was literally called “the Etruscans gave Rome everything”, and it’s pretty much true. “The Etruscan elite provided it (Rome) with its early political arrangements (monarchy, army) and urban infrastructure (walls, forum, drainage system); in short, it was probably they who turned Rome into a full-blown city-state (Timemaps.com). So basically what this website is saying is that the Etruscans helped literally build the city of Rome, along with providing it with it’s basic government structure. If that isn’t enough, a huge portion of Roman culture originated from the Etruscans as well. Often when people think of ancient Rome they think of the gladiators fighting in the Colosseum. This makes sense, since it was a staple in Roman life. But the fact is that Romans copied the idea of fights to the death from the Etruscans and changed it into Gladiators. So overall, Rome was probably only able to have the immense success it had because of the head start the Etruscans gave them, without them Rome’s rise may never have existed in the first place. “Etruscan civilization of Ancient Italy, and its influence on early Rome.
