Culture - Muhammad went through a life-changing spiritual experience at 610 CE and declared that there is only one true deity, Allah, that ruled the universe. He experienced visions of messages and revelations of Allah delivered through the archangel Gabriel. Although he was not trying to create a new religion, he shared many beliefs with Jews and Christians, and as he shared his faith, many others started showing interest. A religion called Islam was formed.
