The Revolutionary War was fought between the colonists and the British and the colonists' victory allowed America to become an independent nation. The war was caused by unfair taxation without any representation on the colonies as well as many other factors that caused tensions to rise between them. This war made America independent from Britain and it started a nationwide democracy in place of Britain's control.
