Ptolemy was a mathematician, astronomer, geography and as well as an astrologer. He lived in the city of Alexandria. His model helped understand the structure of the solar system. He also synthesized Greek knowledge of the known Universe. His work enabled astronomers to make more accurate predictions of planetary positions and solar/lunar eclipses.
