This would mean that the government controlled all aspects of public and private life.
Nazi Germany was a one-party state, Hitler had banned and removed all opposition so all elements of political life were controlled.
However, the economy was mainly in the hands of private enterprises which had some freedom and independence.
The Nazis controlled a lot about society but many people, especially teenagers, rebelled.
The Nazis had great control over media, Goebbles used censorship and propaganda heavily.
The Nazis were never able to control the Catholic Church as it was too large and was controlled by foreign powers. Their attempts to start there own church was unsuccessful.
