Proclamation of 1763 On October 7, 1763 King George III told the colonists that they could not settle in the Appalachian Mountains.
Sugar Act In April of 1765 Britian installed this act to keep people smuggling sugar and kept them paying taxes.
Stamp Act (Febuary 2, 1765) For Britain to repay their war debt, they made the colonists purchase a stamp with everything they purchased. This required them paying a kind of tax.
Townshend Act On June 26, 1767, Charles Townshend created an act that placed a tax on tea, glass, paint, lead, and paper.
Boston Massacre On March 5, 1770 British troops and colonists fought resulting in five colonists being killed.
Tea Act On May 20, 1773, the British changed the Townshend Act, but kept taxing the tea. This was called the Tea Act.
Boston Tea Party On December 16, 1773, many Colonists dressed up as Indians and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor.
Intolerable Acts (March 18, 1774) This is known as how Britian reacted to the Boston tea party. They shut down the harbor untilb the colonists could pay for the tea.
Battles at Lexington and Concord Starting on April 19, 1775, General Gage from Britian ordered a surprise attack to get weapons back from the colonists. This is where the British realized the colonists were going to fight
Tomas Paine published Common Sense On January 1, 1776, Tomas Paine published Common Sense for a call of independence from the British.

French and Indian War: (April 4, 1754-Febuary 10,1763) Also known as the 7-year war, It was fought between the French and Great Britian. It was a fight over land west of the Appalacian Mountains. The winners were the British and the Treaty of Paris was signed.
