Rap to be able to rhyme which was difficult due
to the structure of korean words and
sentences. His style of rhyming using the
Korean language would be adopted by many
Korean rappers.Perioden
Early rapping or MC'ing was not a music form
but a way to work/entertain the crowd in a
party. It was also a way to get more people in
parties as preferecnes between styles of MC'ing
and Dj'ing arose.
Although not a standalone music form, it got
integrated into pop and rock music as it was
viewed as "fun and easy". Introduction of rap
through these genres would facilitate growth of
rap.
Another catalyst for rap and hip-hop was the
easily accessible synthesizers, samplers, and
drum machines sincGolden Age of Hip Hop
Hip Hop became more popular and spread
throughout the country through its ability to
split off from disco or party music. DJ'ing,
rhyme scheme, flow, style all became points for
audiences to feed off of and make hip hop and
rap more mainstream. This caused labels who
focused primarily on rappers and hip hop
artists to develop such as Tommy Boy, Prism
Records, and Def Jam.Korea's first contact with Hip-Hop likely came
from interacting with American soldiers
stationed in Korea. Dance clubs would cater to
American soldiers with the hip-hop that was
popular and spreading at the time.
Mid1980's had danceclubs that were popular
among both Koreans and Americans. Hip-hop
music inspired Korean dancers with the break
sections and became a popular danceform and
performance within many night clubs. Moon
Night was a particular night club that
progressed Hip hop development inHip Hop integrated and developed within
Korean Culture as dance music. American Hip
Hop was used to promote dancers/partygoers.
Korean Hip Hop and dance promoted Hip Hop
further and Kpop. Korean artists would then
begin to add more Korean twists to Hip Hop
with language, cultural messages, and dress.UK Hip Hop still derives from American Hip Hop
being imported but the UK had large Jamaican
influences still prevalent within the teenage
population. This caused the Hip Hop
development to differ slightly and have a
British/Jamaican twist.British Hip Hop and Rap culture continued
growing underground but also started to rise
up in mainstream media. Although it had
started off literally underground or hidden in
the grafitti of train stations and breakdancing
parties of garages, this popularity blew up and
became more relevant. British artists started to
attempt branching out past imitation and
developing British specific music.British Hip Hop and Rap began diversifying
outside of garage and party music. With the
internet and media sharing platform services
becoming more popular, it was easier to share
and listen to new artists. As a result, British Hip
Hop artists started adding more musical
elements from trap, garage music, trill, and
electronic music.
