Based off of the timeline the French Revolution as four distinct periods "National Assembly, Legislative Assembly, National Convention, and Napoleon."
National Assembly period was the changing point from the Absolute Monarchy to a more republic government; with the destruction of old regime ways and reorganizing the French state.
The Legislative Assembly Period saw the break with the monarchy, with the fleeing of Louis XVI and creation of a new constitution.
The National Convention was the most radical time of the French Revolution with the execution of the king and thousands of "supposed" enemies of the state/civilians.
The Napoleonic period saw the decreasing of equality and values gained during the Revolution, such as a Republic and women's rights, and also saw the destruction of France power and dominance.
