Guru Angad ascends to Guruship. Guru Angad
was the second of the ten Sikh Gurus. He was
born in a Trehan Khatri family, with the birth
name as Lehna, in the village of Harike in
northwest Indian subcontinent.(January 8 1552)

Guru Amar Das was the third of the Ten Gurus
of Sikhism and became Sikh Guru on 26 March
1552 at age 73. Amar Das adhered to the
Vaishnavism tradition of Hinduism for much of

Guru Amar Das establishes the Vaisakhi tradition.
Vaisakhi is a long established harvest festival in
the Punjab. It had been celebrated long before it
gained an added dimension for Sikhs. In 1699
the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh, chose
Vaisakhi as the occasion to transform the Sikhs
into a family of soldier saints, known as the
Khalsa Panth.(Aug 10, 1604)

Zorawar Singh Kahluria was a general of the
Sikh Empire in South Asia. In reference to his
the legacy of conquests in the Himalayas
including Ladakh, Tibet, Baltistan and Iskardu as
General and Wazir (Minister), he has been
referred to by historians as "Conqueror of
Ladakh" and the "Napoleon of India".(21 may 1662)
Birth of Bhai Sahib Singh.
Bhai Sahib Singh was one of the Panj Pyare (or
the Five beloved ones). He was formerly known
as Sahib Chand and was a Barber (Nai) before
being baptized into Khalsa tradition.(APR 18, 1716)

Pir Buddhu Shah was a
Muslim divine whose real name was Badr ud
Din, who was an admirer and ally of Guru
Gobind Singh. He visited the Guru regularly and
at one point introduced 500 shias Muslims
Pathan soldiers who had been expelled by
Aurangzeb to the Guru who employed them.
However, when these soldiers faced battle
against the Hill chiefs, they deserted the Guru's
army.(NOV 23, 1595)
Birth of Guru Hargobind
Guru Hargobind, revered as the sixth Nanak,
was the sixth of ten Gurus of the Sikh religion.
He was barely eleven years old when he became
Guru on 11 June 1606, after the execution of his
father, Guru Arjan, by the Mughal emperor

Guru Har Rai
Guru Har Rai ascends to the Guruship. Guru Har
Rai revered as the seventh Nanak, was the
seventh of ten Gurus of the Sikh religion. He
became the Sikh leader at age 14, after the death of his grandfather and
sixth Sikh leader Guru Hargobind.(JUN 1, 1747)
