History of Germany

An attempt at documenting the history of the modern Federal Republic of Germany. Going back through history, the history will thus also reference the German division between West Germany and East Germany, the Weimar Republic and Nazi Germany, the German Empire, the North German Confederation, the German Confederation, the Holy Roman Empire including its downfall at Napoleon's hands and the beginnings of the German civilization under the watchful eyes of the Roman Empire and barbarian kings like the Franks.
