The day I was born. My birthday
Day 10 the zygote forms. Implantation can cause light bleeding or spotting. Implantation bleeding can occur around the time when you expect a menstrual cycle, so you may mistake implantation bleeding for your period.
You become pregnant near the end of week two or the beginning of week three, depending on when your body ovulates. Ovulation marks your body's fertile period.
Weeks 3 The cavity will soon be the yolk sac, delivering nutrients to the embryo. The egg is now a "blastocyst" burrowing into the blood-rich uterine lining.
At week 4, miscarriage is called a chemical pregnancy since the embryo cannot be detected on ultrasound, only through blood and urine testing. Signs of miscarriage include cramping, spotting, and heavy bleeding.
First Trimester ends and the Second Trimester start
Second Trimester ends and Third Trimester start
At this stage of your pregnancy, you may not feel very pregnant because there are little if any visible physical body changes. You may, however, begin to experience physical pregnancy symptoms such as: Fatigue is particularly common during the first trimester and tends to return in late pregnancy
The baby has grown a great amount. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches – about the size of a lemon
On week 16 the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, and his head is more erect than it has been.
By week 20, your baby will now measure around 16.5cm long, head to rump and around 25cm from head to heel. This is a harmless mixture of amniotic fluid that your baby has swallowed, digestive secretion and dead skin cells that will form your baby's first bowel movement after birth.
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight – 1 1/2 pounds – isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn.
Total 30 weeks pregnant weight gain should be about 18 to 25 pounds. During pregnancy at 30 weeks, baby's position is still head up.
On week 35 of pregnancy. As only 5% of babies are born on their actual due date, you might already be wondering if every twitch and ache is a sign of impending labour! If your baby was to arrive now, they would still be considered moderately premature, but would most likely be absolutely fine with a little extra care.
Most healthcare providers will induce labor if you're still pregnant between one and two weeks after your due date. This is because the placenta may become less effective at delivering nutrients at around 42 weeks, and other serious complications become more likely as you pass your due date.
