to govern themselves.1828: The Election of

because Jackson was
one of the most

figures in history and
made incredibly
important decisions
which changed America.1801: The Barbary Wars
begin.
This event is significant
because the seizure of
American ships prompted
the country to utilize their
navy for the first time;
additionally, this first
contact with Muslim
culture solidified a long-
lasting view of the culture.1807: The Embargo Act
is enacted.
This event is significant
because it intended to
punish foreign traders
by completely halting
trade with them and
reinforcing local
industry, but ended
up only destroying
local business and
economy.1801: The Louisiana
Purchase Passes.

because it vastly
expanded American
territory and solidified

that America was destined
