-They fully adopted this declaration on July 4th
-It was divided into 5 sections, including the introduction, preamble, the body which was 2 sections, and the conclusion

-Published it about his arguments in favor of American Independence
-Credited with uniting the colonists about the idea of independence
-This pamphlet sold over 500,000 copies
