1 Jan 1773 Jahr - Tea Act Of 1773
Beschreibung:
The Tea Act was a British law that allowed the British East India Company to sell tea directly to the American colonies bypassing colonial merchants and making their tea cheaper. Many colonists saw this as an attempt by Britain to assert greater control over the colonies and undermine local businesses. In protest, colonists organized the Boston Tea Party where they would dump an entire shipment of tea into Boston Harbor. This act of defiance escalated tensions between Britain and the colonies, leading to further protests and ultimately the outbreak of the American Revolution.
