1 Jan 1820 Jahr - Common School Movement
Beschreibung:
Before the Common School Movement, many students who were poor or not white did not go to school. The goal of this movement was to make schooling available to all students in the U.S. Some of the effects of the movement were the taxation of citizens that would go directly to schools. Also since many students were not going to school they aspired to change that especially for minorities. After this movement, almost half of the U.S. children were going to school. This movement emphasized the importance of attendance in schools which is so important today. Today, attendance in schools is important and that was first established in the Common School Movement.
