dai gyakuten saiban, known as the great ace attorney in the west, is a prequel duology. it follows phoenix wright/naruhodō ryūichi's great-great grandfather, naruhodō ryūnosuke, as he navigates early 1900s england as a japanese law student. the games are also notable for heavily featuring characters from the sherlock holmes series as main characters.

the second game is a direct continuation of the first game's story - naruhodo must unravel the conspiracy laid out by the events of the first game and uncover the corruption behind it.

the majority of this game's events take place in 1900. for information on this game's events, refer to that part of the timeline (section heavily wip :( sorry)
