1 Okt 1982 Jahr - Founding of the Revolutionary Palestinian Communist Party

Beschreibung:

The Revolutionary Palestinian Communist Party (RPCP), founded in October 1982, is a small Palestinian political group advocating for an independent Palestinian state through armed struggle. It emerged from a split in the Jordanian Communist Party's West Bank branch over recognition of Israel, with Arabi Awwad leading the more radical faction. Headquartered in Damascus in the early 2000s, the RPCP joined the PLO but split from it in 1987, opposing Yasser Arafat's policies. The party participated in resistance against the Israeli invasion of Lebanon and opposed the Oslo Accords. By the early 1990s, it disbanded its armed wing and joined the Alliance of Palestinian Forces. The RPCP views the Syrian opposition as influenced by colonialist and Zionist forces. Awwad died in March 2015.
