After years of experimentation, the Nuwali achieve what they believe to be the optimal genetic condition in primitive humanity. They are stronger, more resilient, and longer lived, and perfect for the long role of guarding infant Celestials, who are exposed and weak between their emerging from stars and when they awaken to full strength. Because it is never know when a Celestial will emerge, the Guardians must wait for their time.

They create a Uni-Mind that instills in them the knowledge of their role in the life cycle of the Celestials. The Nuwali begin producing more using Shi'ar bio-printers and shipping them to identified Celestial nurseries assignment. The Nuwali also create a caste of Eternal to look after and operate the workings on Earth, thus reducing the opportunities for their secret to be found out among their own people.

Countless failed experiments, called Deviants, are contained within Olympia for future study.
