4 Jul 1776 Jahr - The Declaration of Independence
Beschreibung:
By 1776, tensions between America and Britain were at an all time high. The second continental congress decided to push the delicate state of affairs even further by declaring independence. Thomas Jefferson, with input from others, drafted the Declaration of Independence, which articulated the colonies' grievances and their right to self-governance. The Declaration was adopted on July 4, 1776, formally severing political ties with Britain and establishing the United States of America. This document underlined the principles of liberty, equality, and democracy, justifying the colonies' break from Britain and inspiring future democratic movements worldwide. It marked the beginning of the Revolutionary War, leading to the eventual success of the colonies in achieving independence and forming a new nation.
