48 Arabs, 47 Jews killed; 140 Jews, 73 Arabs wounded.[5] Began as a fight between two Jewish groups. Arabs joined in because they thought they were being attacked, violence spread southward and Arabs went on a looting / killing spree against Jaffa Jews that lasted one week (May 1st - May 7th).
