Beschreibung:

Born Araminta Ross in Maryland. She escaped slavery in 1849 and later guided approximately 70 slaves into freedom in the northern states through the Underground Railroad.
She acted as a spy during the Civil War and helped to plan and lead the Combahee River raid in South Carolina.
In 1908 she founded the Harriet Tubman Home for the Aged, which cared for African Americans in need.
