1 Jan 1400 Jahr v. Chr. - Assuwa revolt in northwest Anatolia

A confederation of cities known as the Assuwa revolted against their Hittite overlords. Interestingly two of those cities were Wilusiya and Taruisa (believed by some scholars to correspond to Illium and Troy respectively). Furthermore, Mycenaean style swords were found in the region, which also correspond to the time in which the revolt took place. Additionally there is mention in Hittite documents of relations between the Ahhiyawa(Achaeans) and the Assuwa. Could this revolt be the historical inspiration for Homer's Trojan war?
