Christian humanism, which saw a humanists focusing on Christian piety and religious revival, was famously seen in Desiderius Erasmus’s In Praise of Folly. Erasmus, a devoted Catholic and humanist, found flaw in the Roman Catholic Church, satirising in in his work, In Praise of Folly, where he emphasized the corruption in the Catholic church and the value of being modest as opposed to greedy for power, wealth, and status. These criticisms fueled the minds of later reformers, notably Martin Luther, and inspired change in the Catholic church with subsequent movements such as the Protestant Reformation.
