1 Aug 1882 Jahr - Chinese Exclusion Act (1882)
Beschreibung:
1882: Banned entry of Chinese laborers for 10 years and denied naturalization to Chinese immigrants already residing in the US. This was the first instance of U.S. law restricting immigration based solely on race and ethnicity. The Japanese and other Asians who immigrated to replace Chinese labor faced exclusionary practices and eventually led to the passage of the Immigration Act of 1917--barred Asiatic zone.
